A Tale of Irises
A lot of my thought-sharing has been heavy stuff lately, so I’m just having fun today.
Yes, I’m playing with the camera again! And, yes, the flower beds need cleaning out! But…………….I wanted to share these freshly-bloomed irises with you. I thought them to be quiet beautiful, especially since they are some that were transplanted from my mother and daddy’s yard to my yard. As of this next month, their property is passing out of family hands; the deed will be transferred to the new owner. It’s a milestone! Several years ago, we dug up some of these irises and brought them home to our yard. I didn’t know if they would live or not, since I don’t have much of a green thumb. My mom was real handy, though. She laid a brick walkway from the porch across the yard to the driveway, and these many irises bloomed along the walkway and around trees in the yard. She had several different colors, but I only wound up with purple ones. The purple is pretty, though, and I am so proud to have something growing and blooming in my yard that she once tended, as well.
Hope you enjoy the flowers, and happy Spring to you.
TODAY’S SMILES:
- A red bird.
- Ducks cavorting in a pond.
- Getting done with our second house-cleaning job.
- An 18-wheeler on the interstate proclaiming “Churches of Christ (Nashville, Tennessee) Disaster Relief.
- Spring all around!
Have a good Friday, my friends, and a good weekend. See you back here on Monday. Love and God’s joy to all of you.

We’ve been to “#4″ to help pack some of the disaster relief supplies. Great folks and a great ministry.
