A Lovely Day
Whomever said nothing is so fair as a day in June, in my humble opinion, was drastically misguided. But to each his own, as the monkey said when he kissed the cow!
Today was a wonderful early fall day. The only thing that would have made it better is for the colors to already be in the leaves! It’s a little early for that, but those colors are on their way. For me, never is the handiwork of God more apparent than in the fall with all of its attendant beauties (and when there’s a full moon). (Spring is beautiful in its own time, but autumn just beefs up my metabolism.) The cooler breezes, the blue of the sky, the crunch of the leaves, and the greens, golds, reds, and browns on a sunny fall day. It just doesn’t get any better………Thank you, Father, for this time of year!
We MAY make it out to the Mid-south Fair tomorrow, just for the fun of it. No roller coaster rides or anything, but we may splurge and have a funnel cake, although we’ve both been warned about avoiding fried stuff. Where’s the fun in that, huh?

I think all the powdered sugar on a funnel cake sort of cancels out the fried grease. We took Josh and Heather to the LA fair about three years ago and the grossest thing I’ve ever seen at a fair (excluding people, of course) was a Krispy Kreme Chicken / Donut sandwich. Even typing that out gives me indigestion.

We’ve had “cool” weather for this time of year as well. We don’t get any “color” around here to about December when the oranges become ripe. Have a good weekend.

Fall is beautiful. I have two trees in my front yard that are changing and releasing already. The mornings are really cool–jacket weather already. Seems strange.
