Four Seasons
Spring is right around the corner. I believe I can see that hint of green in the trees; buttercups are blooming, and the daylight is lasting longer, even without DST! Spring is so fresh and new and lovely. Hope springs eternal, especially this time of year we are about to embark on. In the spring, it seems like the world is so full of wonderful possibilities.
I love the spring of the year. Won’t deny fall is my most favorite. For me, fall brings a burst of glory in the colors and an excitement that comes to a fuller measure than any other time. What can beat the awesome beauty of a harvest moon……..or the fun of crunching leaves under your feet?
Winter has a beauty of its own. I love snow, but we don’t get much of it. We’ve had just a smattering of it, while folks just to the north had a crippling ice storm, and some are still without power weeks later. I know there are those who’ve had more of their share of the white stuff and they are through appreciating its beauty. But a full moon shining on a freshly fallen blanket of snow…….my, my, what a picture. And the diamonds in the sky when the sun shines on an icicle!
Now summer. Yes, I know. Baseball. Warm weather. Trips to the beach. Going outside with a short sleeve and not shivering. But I have to admit, I have more trouble finding beauty in the summer time. It’s my least favorite. You know how bears hibernate in the winter? Well, when the thermometer hits 98 in the shade, that’s when I want to hibernate.
I’m trying to work on myself and find something about hot summer time to appreciate. After all, if spring is round the corner, can summer be far behind?
But whatever the season is, the beauty has been provided for us from a Father Who loves us.

TODAY’S SMILES:
- Buttercups blooming in OUR yard as well as the neighbor’s.
- Looking forward to having Hailey and Emily all to ourselves Friday night and Saturday.
- A day spent with relatives and pizza!
- Our song service tonight at church. That song, “Hallelujah What a Savior!” What great encouragement.
- Smith’s sermon tonight. Mercy is better than judgment.
See you tomorrow night. God bless.

Summer in the desert can be brutally hot. Winters can be bone-chilling cold. But we likes the desert living.
